Tomás was born in Turin, Italy in 1982.

Son of an Irish writer and a British/American actress Tomás has always had a passion for storytelling in all its forms.

Having achieved top marks at Graphics and Advertising School in Italy, Tomás Sheridan went on to study Photography and Film at Napier University, Edinburgh.

As a filmmaker he has explored all areas of production from cinematography to sound, from grip to production assistant, demonstrating an understanding of the entire process of the creation of a film. Extensive practice in photographic arts over the past ten years has helped him develop skills in narrative through imagery.

In 2008 he received support from the UK lottery fund (via GMAC, Scottish Screen and UK film council) and produced his first documentary project entitled Archive of Dreams which went on to win recognition both in Edinburgh (Public & Jury Prizes at the Jim Poole Awards) and in Turin, Italy (Spazio Torino Prize for best short) as well as screening in dozens of festivals in Europe and the US.

Tomás works continuously as a director, a cameraman and an editor both commercially and out of passion. Recent work includes Radiostan a film shot and edited in four weeks across Kyrgyzstan, Kazakstan and Russia as part of Cinetrain 09 and When Life Throws Lemons a half-hour doc about an unexpected pregnancy and its effect on the young parents (still in production).

Tomás Sheridan now lives and workes in Edinburgh. He is currently developing his first documentary feature-length called Babel’s Market; a roaming look at Porta Palazzo (Turin), the largest market in Europe where young immirants struggle to find an identity to call their own.
